Birth Art Cafe in the News

Last week, a journalist and photographer joined in at a special Birth Art Cafe session that was also being filmed for a promotional film that I am making.  It was a wonderful session with a beautiful bunch of women (photo above).  The theme was to connect to the women (mothers/ daughters or other ancestors) in our family line.  The article will appear in the St Albans Review and Watford Observer in the next few weeks.  If you would like me to let you know, please email me.

Birth Art Cafe Training nearly full
January has been very busy with the launch of the Birth Art Cafe training which has only 1 space left on the full course and some people still interested in coming.  I may run 2 sets of parallel Days 2 & 3 as they are limited to 8 people.  If you are interested, please let me know as soon as possible.

Buddhism for Mothers

I am not a Buddhist but what I like about this book is that it is not prescriptive or about being the perfect mother or getting it all right.  Instead, it shares my sentiments of being mindful of what needs to be done in this moment.  The author shares some of her mothering experiences and makes the reader feel OK about “getting it wrong”.  For more details about the book, click here.

Testimonial

I have got so much out of going to the Birth Art Café each week with my partner. It has been deeply therapeutic and a really useful tool to process all the emotions that have been coming up throughout my pregnancy. It has also been a lovely opportunity to meet other local expectant mums in a relaxing environment.  There is nothing else like this available in the area – I have found everything else on offer to pregnant women is limited and somewhat focussed on the physical changes that are going on rather than the emotional/spiritual and the transition into motherhood. Birth Art is a really enjoyable way of expressing and connecting to oneself.Roma Norriss came to the Birth Art Café when she was pregnant with her partner Jamie and now with her gorgeous little boy, Zephyr.
