Maternity Reflexology for Pregnancy in Hertfordshire

Reflexology works on balancing all of the body systems to provide a healthy body for conception to take place. Gentle pressure to reflex points balances the hormonal system and stimulates the reproductive organs. The stimulation involved in reflexology helps to regulate women's menstrual cycles and is also useful for relaxation purposes. Men can also benefit from treatments for individual reasons such as stimulation of sperm production. The reflexologists at HHH that specialise in Maternity Reflexology are Sophia Smith and Shilloo Varma
I am specially qualified to treat pregnant women as I have done an Advanced course in Maternity Reflexology by Suzanne Enzer, a highly respected midwife-reflexologist. This special routine is designed to help women feel more comfortable during pregnancy, helps keep oedema at bay and to prepare for an easier labour.
What is Maternity Reflexology like?
- It involves specific massage strokes and pressure sensitively applied with the thumbs to the feet (occasionally the hands too), according to the mirror reflection of all body anatomy and systems in the feet (including the mirror of the pregnancy itself)
- It is a very earthy, strength-giving technique: it is grounding and eases labour
- It helps all systems to function more optimally: it is a complete workout!
- It harmonises the hormones at every stage: preconception, pregnancy, postnatal stage; after miscarriage or caesar or recovery from fertility drugs
- It is profoundly relaxing: women feel more in tune with themselves and connect with the baby in a renewed way
- Babies in the womb love it: they respond especially well to the colours!

- Helps with bladder problems, cystitis, painful feeling of pressure
- Calms the heart: palpitations, cardiac conditions*, high or low blood pressure*, varicose veins/cramps in the legs, hypertension associated with oedema/proteinuria*
- Reduces lymphatic congestion (swollen ankles) and helps with severe oedema*
